The Colorado Springs Marriott, managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, is an exceptional venue located near the scenic Rocky Mountains and the bustling downtown area of Colorado Springs, Colorado’s second-largest city. We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Cook to join our Culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals either starting their careers or with previous kitchen experience to develop their culinary skills and grow within the hospitality industry. The Cook will assist the culinary leadership team in food production, preparation, and fabrication for various dining settings including the kitchen, cafeteria, banquet events, dining room, and fine dining. The role requires creativity, motivation, and a willingness to learn and adapt to seasonal menu changes and the restaurant's concepts.
As a Cook at Colorado Springs Marriott, you will gain hands-on experience with various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, and frying. You'll work with knives and other kitchen equipment, develop proficiency in reading and recreating recipes, and focus on consistent quality in food preparation. A key part of the role is to minimize food waste through cross-utilization and maintain an orderly, sanitized kitchen environment. You will prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and ensuring proper storage and quality control over all food items. The position involves collaboration with a world-class culinary team in a supportive and dynamic environment that encourages skill development and career growth.
This role is suitable for candidates with 4-10 years of professional kitchen experience or those actively pursuing culinary education. Candidates should hold or be able to obtain an active Food Handler’s certification and be willing to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, physical stamina for long periods of standing, and the capability to lift at least 50 pounds are essential. Compensation for this position ranges between $20.00 and $21.00 per hour, with actual packages based on skills, experience, certifications, and location-specific factors.
