This unique hotel opened its doors in the fall of 2018 and has since become a staple in the community, offering guests an exceptional experience surrounded by nature's tranquility. With 93 well-appointed rooms, each featuring a private terrace, Carpenter Hotel combines a boutique atmosphere with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy a relaxing swim in the hotel's inviting pool, unwind on the community deck, or visit the Q Hut pavilion for casual gatherings. The hotel also boasts an on-site restaurant, Carpenters Hall, which serves delectable meals on the patio or in the dining rooms, along with an all-day Coffee Bar that caters to every guest's culinary desires. Its prime location near Lady Bird Lake and downtown Austin provides convenient access to the city's vibrant culture and entertainment.
The Carpenter Hotel is currently looking to hire a Cook who will play a vital role in exceeding guest expectations through comprehensive food preparation and culinary duties. The Cook position requires an individual capable of preparing, seasoning, and cooking all menu items to the highest standards, as well as maintaining rigorous adherence to health department regulations. This role involves meticulous ordering and management of kitchen supplies to ensure the smooth operation of food service at all times. In addition to culinary skills, the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication abilities and conflict resolution skills, all while embodying the hotel's core policies and culture. This position is integral not only to maintaining the quality of food services but also to upholding the reputation and values of the Carpenter Hotel in interactions with staff, guests, vendors, and business partners.
The Cook will be responsible for various duties such as preparing a wide range of food items according to customer orders or supervisor instructions, prepping food for after-hours distribution, and ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met in all kitchen and food preparation areas. Responsibilities extend to storing food properly to avoid spoilage and managing food supplies and equipment throughout the kitchen. The Cook must constantly monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to deliver an outstanding dining experience. The role requires close collaboration with supervisory staff to plan menus, considering food cost control and special event requirements, making it a position that blends creativity with operational efficiency.
This opportunity at Carpenter Hotel carries additional benefits for employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401K retirement plan with company match, and generous paid time off. Staff members also enjoy free room nights, discounted rates for family and friends, and a range of work-life balance initiatives such as complimentary access to Headspace for wellbeing.
