The role of Full Time Cook at Children's Home Society is an essential position responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for both children and on-duty staff. This full-time role offers a competitive salary starting at $20.00 per hour, with the potential for an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential, reflecting the organization's commitment to fair compensation. The schedule consists of weekday shifts that vary Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, weekend shifts scheduled on alternating weekends from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and holiday shifts required on a rotating basis, all within a standard 40-hour workweek.

As a Full Time Cook, you will actively contribute to improving the lives of children by ensuring they receive well-prepared, safe, and healthy meals in a timely manner. Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • Some experience in quantity food production preferred
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Requires standing for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to tools, utensils, equipment and cleaning materials, requiring attentive and safe utilization
  • Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks

Job Duties

  • Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals
  • Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc.
  • Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins
  • Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage
  • Maintain personal cleanliness and cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas
  • Take and record food temperatures at mealtime
  • Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures
