The Full-Time Cook role at HumanGood is an essential position within the dining services team, focusing on preparing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of the residents. The schedule for this full-time position is Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM, providing a structured workweek with evenings and Sundays off, contributing to a balanced work-life dynamic. Compensation for this position ranges from $24.50 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, allowing candidates to be fairly rewarded for their culinary skills and expertise.
As a Full-Time Cook, you will be responsible for meticulously preparing food items through various cooking methods such as baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking. Your duties will extend beyond simple meal preparation to include washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning ingredients to create visually appealing and delicious plates. Your role will require strict adherence to sanitary standards and food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all residents. Additionally, you will be involved in preparing food for special catering events, monitoring inventory stock levels, and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen. Quality control is an important aspect of this role, so tasting food before serving and ensuring that all meals meet dietary requirements are key responsibilities.
This position also requires compliance with health and safety regulations, including checking holding and storage temperatures and maintaining proper food handling certifications. Given the sensitive nature of working with residents, adherence to HIPAA privacy rules to safeguard resident confidentiality is mandatory. Active participation in daily production meetings and ongoing training is expected to stay informed of best practices and operational updates.
