Job Description

Our nursing facility is a dedicated healthcare establishment committed to providing high-quality care and support to elderly and disabled residents. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our team. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in enhancing the health and satisfaction of our residents. The Cook will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals tailored to meet the specific dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Working closely with dietitians and management, the successful candidate will help plan menus that comply with dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary requests. Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organization is a key aspect of this role. The Cook will also assist in managing inventory and ensuring that all food preparation activities are properly documented. This position requires a passion for food service, attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to contributing positively to the residents' quality of life.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 year or older
  • Serve Safe Certification or willingness to obtain Serve Safe Certification
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays if necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook recommended but not required
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays if necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary training or certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents nutritional needs
  • Ensure all food is prepared safely hygienically and in compliance with health regulations
  • Plan menus in collaboration with dietitians and management to meet diverse dietary requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
  • Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain food safety standards
  • Assist with special dietary requests and accommodate individual preferences when possible
  • Record food temperatures and document food preparation activities as required
