This role is for a Security Concierge who will be instrumental in enhancing the overall patient and visitor experience by being the first point of contact and reference on the hospital campus. The Security Concierge is responsible for greeting and welcoming arrivals with professionalism, providing accurate and timely information about hospital services, policies, and directions, and maintaining a safe and secure environment in the hospital lobby area. This position requires an individual who is attentive to details, skilled in communication, and capable of managing potentially challenging interactions with grace and tact.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Administrative Manager for Patient Experience, playing a key role in bridging communication between patients, visitors, vendors, and hospital personnel. Duties include verifying visitor passes, directing patients and visitors to appropriate service locations, managing visitor restrictions, and handling inquiries related to transportation and other services such as wheelchair assistance. The role also involves maintaining informational materials, monitoring bulletin board postings, and supporting hospital campaigns through various communication channels.
Additionally, the Security Concierge will serve as a resource for community vendor information and volunteer program members, supporting hospital-related activities. Ensuring the hospital lobby is orderly, clean, and welcoming is a vital aspect of this position, requiring vigilance and a proactive approach to security and environment management.

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills

- proficiency in using telephone and basic office equipment
- knowledge of hospital environment and visitor policies is an advantage
- ability to work effectively in a team
- bilingual skills are a plus
Job Duties
- Actively greet and welcome all arrivals
- ensure eye contact as well as timely and pleasant greeting
- handle resistance with grace and professionalism
- access patient location and pertinent information such as any visitor restrictions
- issue and collect patient visitor passes
- direct inquiries as necessary with respect to overnight pass request
- direct patients and visitors to appropriate service locations
- explain visitor and vendor policies
- answer visitor and vendor inquiries
- provide information on hospital services
- maintain brochures and other printed materials on services and service locations
- respond to language access needs of presenting individuals
- secure needed equipment in keeping with established protocols
- answer telephone inquiries including service locations, transportation routes, and directions
- secure wheelchair service when needed
- participate in hospital public awareness campaigns
- assist in development and maintenance of closed cable TV information and audio overhead PSA messages
- monitor lobby bulletin board announcements to ensure authorization for posting
- maintain control of lobby waiting area including lights, PSA music, and TV
- respond to alarming situations
- maintain clean and attractive appearance of lobby with light housekeeping
- establish and maintain a resource directory on community vendors
- serve as a resource to volunteer program members
- engage program members in hospital-related activities
- perform any duties as may be assigned within the scope of the job
