Full-Time Companion/Caregiver - Upper East Side, NYC

This opportunity is with a distinguished private household on the Upper East Side of New York City seeking a full-time live-out companion caretaker for a lovely, active couple in their eighties. The family resides in a spacious NYC apartment and values an experienced professional to assist with daily companion care as well as maintaining their home environment. This position is ideal for candidates who have prior experience working in upscale residences, preferably on Park Avenue or 5th Avenue, due to the family's preference for discreet, polished, and high-standard care.

The companion caretaker role is pivotal in supporting the couple with various daily activities, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout the day. The schedule is typically five days per week from 11am to 7pm when the couple is in New York City, although the position can be offered as part-time for an exceptional candidate. The role demands a compassionate, steady, and proactive individual who can seamlessly integrate into the family’s lifestyle, offering not only physical assistance but also emotional companionship.

In this role, the caretaker will be responsible for a range of tasks including daily companion care, running errands, helping with grocery shopping, and replenishing household supplies. A competency in meal preparation and cooking is essential, enabling the caretaker to contribute to the couple's nutrition and wellbeing through wholesome and timely meals. The caretaker will also liaise with other household staff members such as the housekeeper and driver to ensure smooth household operations. Transportation duties include driving the couple to appointments, events, dinners, and errands, highlighting the importance of a clean and valid driver’s license.

Additionally, the caretaker will accompany the couple to doctor’s appointments and assist with day-to-day technology needs, such as operating the iPhone or TV remote and printing documents.
