Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience in an assisted living or healthcare environment preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • ability to adapt meals to meet dietary needs of seniors
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting
  • knowledge of food safety standards and protocols, ServSafe certification preferred
  • ability to prepare meals that meet dietary restrictions and resident preferences
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • positive attitude and teamwork skills
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and resident dietary requirements
  • ensure food safety and sanitation protocols are consistently met
  • assist in ordering, inventory management, and receiving food deliveries
  • collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain organization and cleanliness
  • monitor food quality and presentation to provide an appealing dining experience
  • adapt to special dietary needs and preferences of residents
  • support scheduling and training of kitchen team members as needed
