The Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member at Whole Foods Market plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding service throughout the shopping experience. This full-time position involves various responsibilities related to assisting customers during checkout, handling cash register operations accurately, bagging groceries efficiently, and addressing customer needs at the service desk. The role also includes maintaining attractive customer service displays, supporting e-commerce functions, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards. Customer Service Team Members are expected to maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times, embodying the Whole Foods Market vision and core values.

Employees in this role will engage actively with customers and fellow team members, contributing to a positive company image by providing efficient and sincere service. The position requires adherence to standard operating procedures, including cash management, product handling, and front-end maintenance. Cashiers may also receive shopper training and be assigned additional shopper duties as part of their responsibilities. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • must be able to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • arrival to workstation on time and proper grooming

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register – changing tapes and ribbon as necessary
  • follows all cash handling procedures – meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • may assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines – helping reduce customer waiting time
  • proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
