Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a leading FORTUNE 100 home improvement company that operates over 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers across the United States. With a workforce of approximately 300,000 associates, Lowe's serves around 16 million customer transactions weekly, generating total fiscal year 2025 sales of more than $86 billion. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, the company is deeply committed to supporting the communities it serves by focusing on initiatives that create safe and affordable housing, improve community spaces, and develop the next generation of skilled trade experts. Additionally, Lowe's plays a vital role in providing disaster relief to communities in need, further solidifying its status as a socially responsible and community-focused organization. As a cashier at Lowe's, you will play a critical role in ensuring every customer has a positive and efficient checkout experience. Your responsibilities go beyond just scanning and handling transactions; you will help customers get the best value for their money by answering their questions, assisting with payments and exchanges, and proactively supporting customers in self-checkout areas. Although most of your time will be spent at the register, you may also be called upon to assist other departments, stock shelves, or manage carts as needed. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and who take pride in delivering friendly and professional service.

Lowe's values each associate's well-being and professional growth. Whether you're seeking a part-time position or a long-term career, Lowe's provides a supportive environment with competitive pay and flexible schedules. Additionally, you will have access to a wide range of benefits including multiple top-tier health insurance options, tuition assistance, a company-matching 401(k) plan, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, a 10% associate discount, and unique opportunities like the Track to the Trades program designed to help you learn new trade skills. Lowe's actively encourages bilingual individuals, military personnel, and veterans to apply, reflecting its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The position requires abilities such as basic reading, writing, and arithmetic, proficiency in using a computer to manage transactions, and physical stamina to stand or sit for prolonged periods and lift items up to 10 lbs unassisted or over 15 lbs with accommodations. Although this role generally does not require regular travel, occasional trips to meetings, training, or supporting neighboring stores may be necessary. Working conditions can vary, as you may be exposed to different weather conditions and noise levels while maintaining safety and cleanliness at your workstation. Joining Lowe's means becoming part of a company that values teamwork, growth, and community impact while offering numerous opportunities for personal and professional development.
