Job Requirements
- No education required
- ability to work early morning shifts
- experience in baking or cake decorating is preferred
- knowledge of food safety standards
- good manual dexterity and attention to detail
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
- strong teamwork and communication skills
- flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar role is plus
- familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- understanding of food safety practices
- excellent time-management skills
- ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- certification from a culinary school is a plus
- speaking English and Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Open the bakery early in the morning (5:30am - 11:00am)
- ensure food safety standards
- clean kitchen equipment and tools before/after use
- mix various ingredients to create fillings for breads and pies (e.g. cream and fruits)
- track food supplies and place orders, as needed
- train team members if needed
- assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes and select pastries
- build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery goods following recipe instructions
- maintain the cake display case and fill it with designated cakes and pastries
- manage and complete daily production list requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work area
- maintain inventory and report as assigned
