Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • able to obtain a valid class B Illinois driver's license
  • good work history
  • record of safe driving for five years
  • able to sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods
  • able to work in all types of weather conditions
  • successful completion of training and route familiarization program

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age

  • successful completion of training and route familiarization program
  • excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Transporting passengers on predetermined routes
  • assisting with route and fare information
  • monitoring farebox to ensure correct fare has been deposited
  • dispensing and collecting transfers
  • filing daily defect cards noting mechanical and body defects
  • reporting route detours and passenger assistance needs to dispatcher via radio
  • recording farebox readings and special passenger counts
  • maintaining daily worksheets
  • completing accident and incident reports
  • performing other duties as assigned
