The company is recognized for supplying a wide range of food products and related supplies to small foodservice operators, families, non-profit organizations, caterers, and more. Known for its commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction, Gordon Food Service balances fast-paced retail environments with opportunities for employee development and growth. This established company prides itself on being a customer-first organization, consistently setting the bar for customer satisfaction in the retail industry.
Located at 1660 S Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, the Gordon Restaurant Market is now hiring for a full-time Box Truck Driver position. This role offers competitive pay ranging from $22.41 to $31 per hour depending on experience, reflecting the company’s dedication to rewarding its workforce. The position is designed for individuals who present a professional image, demonstrate punctuality, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. An essential part of the job is to maintain safe work habits, operate box trucks or refrigerated vans efficiently, and deliver products reliably while fostering strong customer relationships.
As a Gordon Food Service Box Truck Driver, you will be the vital link between the company and its valued customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries that uphold the company’s high standards. This role demands handling sales service functions rapidly by the 90th day of employment, managing payments securely, and following company banking policies. The driver is also responsible for vehicle maintenance, including monitoring refrigeration equipment and promptly reporting any mechanical issues or damages.
The position includes daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and managing paperwork efficiently, ensuring an organized and professional approach to delivery. Beyond driving responsibilities, duties may extend to additional tasks in-store as needed, showcasing the company’s team-oriented culture. Gordon Food Service values employees who can work independently while also thriving in team settings and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
This role upholds a strong safety culture, requiring adherence to compliance regulations and procedures. The physical demands are considerable, including lifting, pushing, and pulling products and operating a two-wheeled hand truck with loads up to 350 pounds. Familiarity with onboard computers and handheld scanners to support the job's administrative requirements is also necessary. The role fits candidates who embrace responsibility, safety, and superior service, contributing to the company’s reputation as an outstanding employer with significant internal growth opportunities and development programs.
Moreover, Gordon Food Service provides a rich benefits package for eligible employees, including profit-sharing, 401(k) plans, employee assistance programs, mental health support, and exclusive employee discounts. Health benefits, prescription, dental, and vision insurance, as well as disability insurance, paid maternity leave, and PTO, add to the value of employment. This comprehensive offering reflects Gordon Food Service’s commitment to the wellbeing of all team members and creating an inclusive, respectful workplace.
Joining Gordon Food Service Store means becoming part of a dynamic company that values its people and puts customers first. It's a chance to build a rewarding career with competitive pay, robust benefits, and a supportive environment where what matters to you matters to the company. Whether you are launching a new career or seeking advancement, this opportunity promises growth, job security, and a meaningful connection to the community it serves.
