The Westin Hotel is currently seeking a motivated and energized Banquet Captain to join its food and beverage department. This role is pivotal in planning and executing dining events, managing food and beverage service, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for coordinating with culinary and catering teams to deliver seamless event operations, handling guest requests and complaints with professionalism, and supervising banquet staff to maintain high standards throughout events. This position requires attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a passion for customer service. Job Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed
  • Must be flexible and have reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight is necessary up to 50 lbs
  • Requires bending, lifting, standing, squatting for long periods
  • Clean background check

Job Qualifications

  • Previous banquet experience preferred
  • Previous hotel experience a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Outstanding customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Ensuring that all food and beverage items are presented and served correctly and noting any special requests and instructions set out on the BEO’s
  • Communicating with the culinary chef and catering manager any changes in the schedule of service, challenges or adverse comments that may arise during the event
  • Ensure that staff members return all equipment to the storage areas, and confirm the room is left clean and tidy
  • Supervise all banquet staff members assigned to event
  • Responsible for preparing room in its entirety for a function or event, prior to the guest’s arrival and reviewing and implementing table and seating diagrams
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Assist with all reasonable bar back duties as required
