The role of Assistant Store Manager at ALDI is a full-time position offering an average of 38 hours per week and a starting wage of $24.50 per hour, with a wage increase to $25.50 per hour starting in year two. Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to stock merchandise, including lifting up to 45 pounds
Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to safely operate equipment such as hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to stay organized and multitask efficiently
Ability to provide and lead others in delivering customer service
Compliance with company policies and confidentiality requirements
Experience in retail environment
Ability to handle cash register operations

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 3 years of progressive retail experience
Prior management experience preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to interpret and apply company policies
Experience in budgeting and managing personnel costs
Proficient in operating cash registers and store equipment
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Meets state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
Demonstrated ability to develop and guide team members
Competence in performance evaluation and goal setting

Job Duties

Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports to enhance performance
Understand and model company core values to foster teamwork
Monitor competitive environment and recommend adjustments to maintain competitive position
Provide product feedback and recommendations
Participate in interviewing store personnel
Communicate weekly information, milestones, and concerns
Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader
Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage
Assist with maintaining stock levels through appropriate ordering
Merchandise products neatly to maximize sales
Ensure product quality, freshness, and accurate signage
Assist with payroll, total loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues as necessary
Ensure timely and effective completion of assigned responsibilities by direct reports
Comply with company policies while upholding security and confidentiality
Perform other assigned duties as required
