The role of Assistant Store Manager at ALDI offers a vital opportunity to be an integral part of this successful retail operation. This full-time position requires approximately 38 hours per week, with a starting wage of $25.50 per hour and a scheduled increase to $26.50 per hour in the second year. In this capacity, the Assistant Store Manager will assist the direct leader with supervising daily store activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities include managing staff schedules, developing and implementing operational plans, and identifying training opportunities that support team growth and performance improvement. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive retail experience
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to provide and lead prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Knowledge of budgeting, personnel costs, and expense management
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently

Job Duties

  • Assists the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identifies training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Understands and models company strategies and core values to foster teamwork
  • Monitors competitive environment and advises direct leader on necessary adjustments
  • Provides product feedback including recommendations on items to carry or discontinue
  • Participates in interviewing store personnel
  • Communicates weekly information, milestones, developments, and concerns
  • Ensures adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control policies
  • Resolves operational customer concerns in absence of direct leader
  • Identifies and rectifies hazards, maintains store equipment
  • Maintains store cleanliness and signage
  • Assists with maintaining proper stock levels through ordering
  • Merchandises product to maximize sales
  • Ensures product quality, freshness, and accurate signage
  • Assists with payroll and budget management, inventory counts, and training new employees
  • Supervises daily operations, escalating issues as necessary
  • Ensures timely and effective completion of responsibilities by direct reports
  • Complies with company policies and upholds confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned
