Job Description
ALDI is a leading global retail company known for its commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. With a strong presence in the grocery industry, ALDI operates a network of stores dedicated to offering a carefully curated selection of high-quality products at affordable prices. The company prides itself on innovation, sustainability, and a team-oriented work environment that fosters growth and development. ALDI's reputation for operational excellence and outstanding customer service makes it a preferred shopping destination for consumers and a sought-after employer in the retail sector.
The Assistant Store Manager role at ALDI is a full-time position that offers an average of 38 hours per week, with a competitive starting wage of $25.50 per hour and a scheduled wage increase to $26.50 in the second year. This role places you at the heart of the store's operations, where you will assist the Store Manager by supervising daily activities, ensuring the store meets its performance objectives, and fostering a positive work environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in managing staff schedules, implementing action plans to improve store results, and identifying key training opportunities to support team growth and enhance performance.
As an Assistant Store Manager, you take on a responsibility that goes beyond routine store management. You will contribute to strategic decision-making by understanding the company’s overarching goals and modeling ALDI’s core values to create a cohesive and motivated team. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of store presentation, product quality, and customer service. You will monitor local market conditions to keep ALDI competitive, provide feedback on product assortments, and oversee inventory control to minimize losses.
The position also demands close collaboration with staff in recruiting, training, and performance management, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities and deliver results that meet or exceed company expectations. You will act as a key point of contact in the Manager's absence, resolving operational and customer service issues efficiently and professionally. The physical demands of the job include stocking merchandise, lifting products up to 45 pounds, and performing various duties involving standing, bending, and walking throughout the store.
ALDI values employees who can work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills, organizational ability, and a strong commitment to upholding company policies and the security of confidential information. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with at least three years of retail experience and prior management experience who seek to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive retail environment. ALDI's inclusive workplace promotes equal opportunity for all employees and applicants, ensuring a diverse and welcoming culture.
