As an Assistant Store Manager at ALDI, you will play a crucial role in supporting the store's day-to-day operations and ensuring optimal store performance. This full-time position requires approximately 38 hours per week with a starting wage of $26.00 per hour, increasing to $27.00 per hour in the second year. You will work closely with the direct leader to implement action plans aimed at improving operational results, overseeing staff schedules, and identifying opportunities for team training and development. Your leadership will help create a positive and inclusive team environment that aligns with ALDI’s core values and company strategies.

The role entails supervising the store team, maintaining inventory and merchandising standards, ensuring compliance with company policies, and handling customer concerns effectively in the absence of the store leader. Physical demands include the ability to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds, frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking. Candidates must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • able to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds
  • ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store
  • ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • must be 18 years of age or older

  • minimum 3 years of progressive retail experience
  • combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • prior management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • understand and model the core values of the organization
  • monitor the competitive environment and inform direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • provide product feedback and recommendations
  • participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • communicate weekly information, milestones, developments, and concerns
  • ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
  • resolve operational customer concerns in direct leader's absence
  • identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
  • maintain store cleanliness and signage
  • assist in maintaining proper stock levels and merchandise product neatly
  • ensure product quality, freshness, and signage accuracy
  • assist with achieving store payroll and budget goals
  • supervise daily operations and escalate issues appropriately
  • ensure timely and effective task completion by direct reports
  • comply with company policies and uphold confidentiality
  • perform other assigned duties
