The role of Assistant Store Manager at ALDI is pivotal in maintaining the store’s operational efficiency and enhancing team performance. Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • ability to provide and lead prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication

  • ability to operate equipment including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, cardboard baler

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of 3 years progressive retail experience
  • prior management experience preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work independently and within a team
  • strong leadership and development skills
  • ability to apply management principles including budgeting and personnel costs
  • proficient in operating cash register and store equipment
  • ability to stay organized and multitask
  • meets state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

  • assists direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • identifies training and development opportunities to enhance team performance

  • monitors competitive environment and advises direct leader on necessary adjustments
  • provides product feedback and recommendations
  • participates in interviewing store personnel
  • communicates weekly information and team updates
  • ensures adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies
  • resolves operational customer concerns in direct leader’s absence
  • identifies and rectifies hazards, maintains ergonomics and store equipment
  • maintains store cleanliness and signage
  • assists with product ordering to maintain stock levels
  • merchandises products to maximize sales
  • ensures product quality, freshness, and accurate signage
  • assists with payroll, loss budget, inventory counts, and employee training
  • supervises daily team operations and escalates issues as needed
  • ensures timely completion of responsibilities for optimal customer service
  • complies with company policies and upholds document confidentiality
  • performs other assigned duties
