Job Description

As an Assistant Store Manager at ALDI, you will play a critical role in assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day management of store operations. This full-time role offers an average of 38 hours per week, starting at a competitive wage of $24.00 per hour with an increase to $25.00 per hour in the second year. The Assistant Store Manager will help develop and implement operational action plans to improve store performance, manage store staff schedules, oversee inventory levels, and ensure the highest standards of customer service and product presentation. You will be responsible for supervising the team, addressing customer concerns in the absence of the Store Manager, and supporting training and development initiatives to empower employees and enhance overall store performance.
In this role, you will be expected to embody ALDI's core values and company strategy, fostering a team environment based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing potential new hires, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, monitoring competitive local market activities, and managing cash control policies to minimize losses. Physical requirements include handling merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds, operating manual and electric equipment, and performing various tasks such as stocking shelves and managing store signage. ALDI emphasizes ensuring employee safety by identifying hazards and supporting proper ergonomics.
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressive retail experience, preferably with prior management experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency in operating store equipment are essential.
