As an Assistant Store Manager at ALDI, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the store’s daily operations and driving overall performance. This is a full-time position averaging 38 hours per week, starting at a wage of $25.50 per hour, with an increase to $26.50 in the second year. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stock merchandise and lift up to 45 pounds
- Capability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk regularly
- Ability to safely operate electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and baler
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to provide and lead prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication with team
- Ability to establish goals and drive employee performance
- Ability to evaluate and improve self and others' performance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum three years of progressive retail experience
- Prior management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong customer service and leadership skills
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies
- Competence in budgeting and expense management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate cash registers and equipment safely
- Organizational and multitasking abilities
- Meets state and local requirements for selling alcoholic beverages
Job Duties
- Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Identify training and development opportunities for staff
- Understand and model the company core values
- Monitor competitive environment and inform leadership
- Provide product feedback and make recommendations
- Participate in interviewing potential store personnel
- Communicate weekly information and team developments
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control policies
- Resolve operational customer concerns in leader's absence
- Identify and rectify hazards and maintain equipment
- Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage
- Assist with inventory and stock level maintenance
- Merchandise products to maximize sales
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and accuracy of signage
- Help achieve store payroll and loss budgets
- Supervise daily operations and escalate issues as needed
- Ensure timely and effective completion of staff responsibilities
- Comply with company policies and confidentiality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
