Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to stock and place products weighing up to 45 pounds
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and provide customer service
- Commitment to follow company policies and confidentiality guidelines
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain organization
- Ability to handle cash register operations
- Ability to safely operate store equipment
- Willingness to adhere to safety standards and occupational requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a retail environment
- Prior management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to provide and lead prompt, courteous customer service
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to develop rapport and open communication with direct reports
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Understanding of budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
- Ability to operate a cash register accurately
- Ability to safely operate store equipment including hand jack and floor scrubber
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task efficiently
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
Job Duties
- Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Identify training and development opportunities to enhance employee performance
- Understand and communicate the company strategy and core values
- Monitor the competitive environment and report necessary adjustments
- Provide product feedback and recommendations
- Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
- Communicate weekly information, team milestones, and developments
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash control procedures
- Resolve operational customer concerns in leader's absence
- Identify and rectify hazards, maintain ergonomics and store equipment
- Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage
- Assist with maintaining proper stock levels through appropriate ordering
- Merchandise products neatly to maximize sales
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and accuracy of signage
- Assist with payroll and budget management, inventory counts, and employee training
- Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues appropriately
- Ensure timely and effective completion of assigned responsibilities
- Comply with company policies and confidentiality requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
