This job opportunity is a regular full-time culinary position with a competitive hourly wage of $20.00. The primary role involves preparing a wide range of food items following strict standards of quality and safety, ensuring dishes served meet the high expectations of The Curtis Hotel and The Corner Office. The position requires strict adherence to standardized recipes, cleanliness, sanitation protocols, and safety regulations. Additionally, team members participate in opening and closing kitchen duties, inventory management, and maintaining seamless communication with kitchen staff and management. Environmental conditions may include working in varying temperatures from freezing freezer environments to hot kitchen lines. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of food service or related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen staff
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 70 lbs
  • Capability to stand continuously for long periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and maintain mobility throughout the work shift
  • Moderate hearing and excellent vision
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety and recipe instructions
  • Willingness to work in variable temperature environments
  • Ability to comply with all sanitation and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
  • Portion food products according to standard sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area
  • Close the kitchen properly following closing checklist and assist others
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Report equipment and food quality issues promptly to chef on duty
  • Inform chef on duty immediately of product shortages
  • Use standard recipe cards for all preparations without relying on memory
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by chef or manager on duty
  • Return unused food items to designated storage areas, cover and date perishables
  • Date all food containers and rotate stock according to procedures
  • Follow instructions from executive or sous chef
  • Clean up station and manage leftover food
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Report safety issues to chef on duty
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with coworkers and customers
