Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of food service or related experience
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen staff
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 70 lbs
- Capability to stand continuously for long periods
- Ability to bend, kneel, and maintain mobility throughout the work shift
- Moderate hearing and excellent vision
- Ability to comprehend and follow safety and recipe instructions
- Willingness to work in variable temperature environments
- Ability to comply with all sanitation and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Minimum one-year food service or related work experience
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff
Job Duties
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Refer to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
- Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- Portion food products according to standard sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area
- Close the kitchen properly following closing checklist and assist others
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
- Report equipment and food quality issues promptly to chef on duty
- Inform chef on duty immediately of product shortages
- Use standard recipe cards for all preparations without relying on memory
- Perform other related duties as assigned by chef or manager on duty
- Return unused food items to designated storage areas, cover and date perishables
- Date all food containers and rotate stock according to procedures
- Follow instructions from executive or sous chef
- Clean up station and manage leftover food
- Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Report safety issues to chef on duty
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with coworkers and customers
