Job Description
Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) is a well-established nonprofit faith-based organization headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. Since 1955, PHS has been dedicated to providing older adults with an extensive range of high-quality housing, care, and service options. It is one of the largest senior living providers in the nation, serving more than 41,800 older adults across Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin through 60 affiliated senior living communities. PHS also operates Optage home and community services and is co-owner of Genevive, the largest geriatric primary care practice in Minnesota, which cares for over 15,500 older adults. The organization is renowned for its leadership in promoting independence, purposeful living, and comprehensive well-being for seniors, guided by its Christian ministry values centered on love, grace, and service.
HallMar Village, a joint ministry of Mercy Medical Center and Presbyterian Homes & Services, is one of PHS's vibrant senior living communities located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This community offers independent living, assisted living, memory care apartment homes, and long-term care suites, all designed to foster a supportive and comfortable lifestyle for older adults. With the Village Center as its heart, residents enjoy inviting living spaces and access to beautiful outdoor elements such as patios, courtyards, gardening spaces, and walking trails. HallMar Village embodies PHS's mission to enrich the lives and touch the hearts of older adults by building a thriving, vibrant, and caring community.
PHS invites applicants to put their purpose to work at HallMar Village by joining their dedicated team in a full-time Server/Dietary Aide role. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about serving older adults and contributing to a community that values empowerment, engagement, and support. The Server/Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in delivering a high-quality dining experience by assisting with meal preparation, dining room setup, and meal service, all while adhering to regulatory standards and the organization's policies and procedures. This role not only demands attention to detail and a caring spirit but also offers employees the chance to be part of a close-knit, faith-driven work environment focused on personal growth and professional development.
At PHS, employees are seen as the most important resource, with a commitment to supporting staff through opportunities for advancement, education assistance, and a strong, inclusive community culture aligned with Christian values. HallMar Village’s environment encourages teamwork, compassion, and respect for the individuality of residents and employees alike. The organization prioritizes safety, diversity, and inclusivity, welcoming everyone regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, or public assistance status.
The Server/Dietary Aide at HallMar Village fulfills a vital support role, ensuring that residents receive meals that are not only nutritionally appropriate but also served in a respectful and warm atmosphere. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in English, follow guidelines closely, and embody the mission and values of PHS. Full-time benefits are offered starting at a minimum of 30 hours per week, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement plans with employer match, paid holidays, and sick leave. Part-time benefits are also available for those working 20-29 hours weekly, including vision insurance, voluntary disability coverage, and education assistance. Moreover, all employees enjoy paid time off, same-day pay, employee assistance programs, access to educational discounts, and wellness resources.
Joining HallMar Village means becoming part of a community committed to honoring God by enriching and supporting the lives of older adults. If you are looking for a meaningful career where you can put your passions to work and make a positive impact daily, HallMar Village is the place for you.
