The current opportunity is for a Pastry Chef who will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of Sanctuary’s bakery program within the Elements restaurant. This position is designed for a skilled culinary professional who can creatively and energetically prepare superior quality desserts that meet established specifications. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for ensuring that all pastry preparation and plate presentation are executed with the utmost attention to detail, taste, and visual appeal, thereby contributing significantly to an elegant and memorable dining experience for guests.
This role involves organizing and maintaining bakery preparation areas, adhering to established par stocks and production levels, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Pastry Chef will be expected to work efficiently under pressure, maintain consistent product quality, and assist the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef with food and labor cost controls. Additionally, this position emphasizes teamwork and communication skills to foster a positive work atmosphere and uphold high standards of hygiene, personal presentation, and equipment maintenance. Job Requirements
- Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and function efficiently in high stress/pressure work environment
- Solid interpersonal, organizational, and problem resolution skills
- Ability to work on slippery surfaces, and work well under pressure
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to work long hours standing in one area to perform essential job functions

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Current food handler's card
- Prior experience in a kitchen or pastry position
- Experience with hospitality and customer service
Job Duties
- Organize and clean all bakery preparation areas to maintain established par stocks, prep levels, and efficient production
- Complete bulk prep, station prep, protein counts, cleaning, closing or opening checklists
- Ensure all food preparation, supplies, products are properly received, handled, prepared and stored
- Ensure compliance with Maricopa County Health Dept regulations on assigned station at all times
- Cook, work and maintain own baking stations and assist wherever needed to ensure timely and smooth quality of service
- Maintain consistency of product with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating to get along with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef
- Assist Pastry Chef in controlling food and labor costs
- Maintain high employee morale and a good reliable staff
- Maintain high standards of dress and personal hygiene
- Ensure proper maintenance and care of equipment
- Project a positive attitude
- embrace and support resort guidelines and procedures
- Assist in the break down and cleaning of all stations at the end of each meal and shift
- Avoid waste through proper preparation and storage of food
