This particular opportunity involves working in one of GIANT's retail stores located in Levittown, PA, as a prepared foods team member. The role is integral to the daily operations of the deli and prepared foods section, where the team member will engage in a wide variety of food preparation tasks, including making sandwiches, subs, wraps, and pizzas, cooking and roasting chicken, heating soups, and transferring deli foods for display. This position requires following meticulous food safety protocols and plan-o-grams (POG) to ensure products are consistently fresh, appropriately merchandised, and appealing to customers.
The prepared foods team member plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of the workspace. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces and equipment according to established safety and sanitation guidelines, tracking production and product losses, and performing regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning fryers and roasters. In addition to food preparation, the team member will assist in product ordering, inventory checks, and merchandising execution to support hot and cold food programs.
Ideal candidates are those who can meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various temperature environments ranging from freezers to non-air-conditioned back rooms. The role demands standing and walking for the majority of the shift, requiring endurance and attention to food safety standards. A commitment to wearing personal protective equipment, such as cut-resistant gloves when handling knives or blades, is essential.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 4-hour shifts depending on business needs
- ability to continually perform job tasks
- capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- able to stand 55 percent and walk 45 percent of shift
- work in varying temperature conditions
- follow company policies and safety procedures
- wear required personal protective equipment
- complete Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Right-to-Know training
- report all accidents within 24 hours
- follow emergency evacuation procedures
- maintain a clean and organized work area
Job Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U. S.
- able to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations

Job Duties
- Review work schedule and prepare equipment and supplies at the start of each shift
- manage production planning
- complete invoice review
- produce products for warmers and hot bar as per plan-o-gram and standard operating procedures
- clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters
- complete daily food safety compliance logs
- track and record product loss
- train team members
- make sandwiches, subs, and wraps and merchandise them properly
- prepare and serve pizza using turbo ovens
- assist customers by slicing and portioning deli foods
- prepare items for grab and go section
- roast and fry chicken, including wrapping and labeling
- clean roasters and fryers and manage waste oil disposal
- break down and clean equipment every 4 hours
- order and prepare smoked products as per procedure
- ensure cleanliness using various cleaning tools and sanitizers
- maintain record-keeping functions
- execute merchandising programs
- coordinate weekly circular ad planning
- organize sales floor cooler and freezer
- follow all safety and operational procedures including reporting accidents, first aid, and use of personal protective equipment
- maintain proper lifting and sanitation techniques
