This job opening is for a position within the retail store team, specifically focused on the deli and prepared foods department. The role centers on food preparation tasks including making sandwiches, subs, wraps, roasting or frying chicken, assembling appetizers, heating soup, and creating pizzas. Additionally, the position entails transferring deli food items to case containers, proper labeling and merchandising in accordance with standardized plan-o-grams (POG). The role demands strong attention to food safety practices, thorough cleaning and sanitizing of work areas and equipment, precise production planning, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards. This is a physically active role that requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and prolonged periods of standing and walking. Team members are responsible for handling ingredients and tools efficiently and safely while delivering quality products to customers promptly. The position contributes meaningfully to the customer experience by ensuring fresh, well-presented deli and prepared food items are always available. In addition to hands-on food preparation, this job includes training fellow team members, conducting record-keeping tasks, assisting with product ordering related to smoked goods, and executing merchandising standards across multiple prepared food programs. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, understand and follow safety regulations, and uphold all company policies including emergency procedures, use of PPE, and food safety standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food preparation or retail grocery preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for 55% of shift and walk 45%
- Ability to follow safety procedures and wear PPE
- Must complete required safety trainings including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Right-to-Know
- Ability to work minimum 4-hour shifts or more depending on business needs

Job Duties
- Review work schedule and prepare equipment and supplies
- Manage production planning
- Complete invoice review
- Produce products for sales floor warmers and hot bar
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters
- Complete food safety compliance logs daily
- Track and record loss using known loss tracking
- Train team members
- Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps, label, and display per SOP
- Make pizza, cook, cut, package, and serve
- Assist customers, cut and slice meat or cheese, portion deli food, weigh, and label items
- Produce food for grab and go section
- Roast chicken, wrap and label
- Clean roaster and dispose of oil
- Fry chicken, wrap and label fried chicken
- Add oil and clean fryer as needed
- Breakdown and clean equipment every 4 hours
- Order smoked products if applicable
- Produce smoked products per SOP
- Use cleaning tools and sanitizers to sanitize work area
- Perform record-keeping as assigned
- Track losses, markdowns, and manage Flashfoods
- Conduct order reviews and upload live freight
- Execute merchandising of prepared food programs
- Plan weekly circular ad
- Organize sales floor cooler and freezer
