Job Description

Chobani is a leading food company known for making high-quality and nutritious food products accessible to a broader audience. Founded in 2005 by Hamdi Ulukaya, an immigrant to the U.S., Chobani’s mission centers around making great food for all while elevating communities and promoting health worldwide. The company produces a variety of popular products such as yogurt, oat milk, and creamers, with Chobani yogurt holding the distinction as America’s No.1 yogurt brand, made using only natural ingredients without artificial preservatives. Chobani has continuously expanded its portfolio, acquiring La Colombe in 2023, a respected coffee roaster that shares their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and impactful community involvement. This acquisition expanded Chobani’s reach into the coffee market, launching cold-pressed espresso and lattes on tap at numerous cafes nationwide, alongside ready-to-drink coffee beverages available at retail. Additionally, the acquisition of Daily Harvest in 2025 further diversified the company’s offerings with nutritious, delicious, and convenient ready-to-make meals.

Chobani prides itself on being a purpose-driven, people-first organization focused on food and wellness, using food as a force for good in the world and emphasizing humanity in every step of their operations. The company’s manufacturing footprint spans New York, Idaho, Michigan, and Australia, with products distributed widely across North America and select international markets. Chobani’s philanthropic efforts prioritize community support and giving back on multiple levels. As an equal opportunity employer, the company values diversity and inclusion, ensuring a discrimination-free workplace and embracing employees from all backgrounds, orientations, and identities. The team receives generous paid time off benefits, including up to 60 hours of accrued PTO for vacation and personal time, alongside up to 60 hours of accrued FTO for sick leave. The compensation for the Shift Lead position is competitive, starting at $26 per hour.

The Shift Lead role at La Colombe, a Chobani company, is an essential leadership position that involves overseeing daily operations to guarantee an exceptional customer experience at every point of interaction. La Colombe is a coffee-focused establishment known for its innovative products and dedication to hospitality and quality. As Shift Lead, you will work primarily on the floor, flexibly moving between the cafe and kitchen areas to address business needs, working side-by-side with team members to ensure smooth, seamless operations. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards in hospitality, kitchen operations, product quality, cleanliness, and team morale.

You will serve as a role model and coach, guiding team members to meet customer expectations and business objectives. The position involves daily communication and collaboration with managers, front-of-house partners, and kitchen teams, ensuring clear distribution of information about inventory pars, quality controls, staffing, and production timing. You will lead kitchen activities such as planning production, tracking inventory, executing prep and packouts, and enforcing organization standards like FIFO methods, proper labeling, and maintaining cleanliness.

As a leader on duty, you will set the tone for each shift, assigning tasks, providing real-time coaching, delivering constructive feedback, and facilitating ongoing training. Your leadership will promote a safe, positive work environment centered on respect, kindness, and efficiency—values embodied in Chobani’s One Dove principles. You will also be responsible for managing challenging situations with sound judgment, exercising autonomy in decision-making, and contributing to hiring and corrective actions when necessary. In addition to operational duties, the role includes retail merchandising tasks such as stocking, organizing, and resetting the retail space to ensure a visually attractive customer experience, as well as managing inventory issues and communicating them to management.

This position is a prime opportunity for learning and growth within the company, offering pathways to other leadership roles such as Sous Chef. It demands a proactive, hands-on leader passionate about food, coffee, and team development, with the ability to motivate and support others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
