Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in deli, bakery or food service operations
  • strong leadership abilities
  • excellent communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety practices
  • familiarity with inventory and scheduling software
  • ability to manage labor and budgets
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in deli or bakery department or food service management preferred
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to use scheduling and inventory management systems
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • sound financial and budgeting skills

Job Duties

  • Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager including supervising the performance of all Deli Bakery HMS associates
  • daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations
  • provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of the Brand Strategy and Culture
  • support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
  • maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, easy, flexible and friendly customer service
  • role model outstanding, friendly customer service while using product knowledge to offer solutions
  • control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment
  • utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems
  • ensure department appearance, quality, safety, food safety, and sanitation are consistently maintained
  • write schedules to provide extraordinary customer service at all times
  • ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise complies with policies and guidelines
  • observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents
  • ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
