The Dining Service Aide role at Presbyterian Village North offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the wellness and happiness of senior residents by providing attentive, efficient dining support. This position is available on a full-time and part-time basis, with shifts covering 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, offering flexibility to meet staffing needs and accommodate various schedules. The role primarily supports the Dining Services Department through a range of tasks involving food service and dining area maintenance, all while ensuring a positive dining experience for residents. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 1-year food service experience in healthcare related facility
- ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
- ability to read and comprehend diet cards and other pertinent material related to resident care
- ability to serve residents in a professional courteous fashion and timely manner
- ability to prepare quantity food of high quality to meet standards of the department
- ability to perform essential duties
- genuine caring for and interest in the elderly and persons with a disability
- ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements
- ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
- ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Model a service attitude towards others
- take ownership in solving problems and take initiative to make things better
- be friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
- ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by reporting any new or existing safety hazards
- maintain good attendance and punctuality
- wear and use appropriate protective gear and equipment
- perform all job duties safely
- pull items needed according to resident menu selection or tray line cards
- be responsible for sanitation controls within assigned work area
- bus tables in dining room
- break down food carts from units
- prepare and plate salads or desserts as assigned
- provide efficient, timely and courteous food service to residents
- complete cleaning assigned workstation daily according to schedule
- scrape, stack, load, and wash dishes according to instructions
- unload and store dishes, tableware, and utensils
- neatly arrange tray or table settings with proper tableware, condiments and tray cards
- perform various food preparation tasks ensuring appropriate serving sizes
- prepare or deliver nourishments/supplements labeled with resident name, room number, date and time
- deliver soiled tablecloths to laundry area
- wash and fold dining room napkins
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Director of Dining Services
