The current vacancy is for a Cook at Aston Gardens at Parkland Commons, where the role plays an essential part in maintaining nutritional standards and culinary quality for the senior living community. The Cook is responsible for preparing both hot and cold menu items, working across various kitchen stations including the grill, sauté, salad bar, and service line. This position requires adherence to standardized recipes and menu cycles to ensure consistent portioning, preparation, and presentation of food. A Cook must have a keen sense of taste and presentation to ensure the meals meet quality and palatability standards that delight residents while meeting nutritional requirements.

This role demands excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding food handling safety, production methods, and portion control. Strong communication skills are vital to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and meet the dynamic needs of the dining service. Job Requirements

  • Previous cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety practices

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items which requires working on the grill, sauté station, salad-bar and on the service line
  • Ensure the proper preparation, portioning and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes
  • Taste and prepare food to determine quality and palatability
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service
  • Adhere to food handling and sanitation policies
