This particular opportunity is located at the GIANT store in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, at 93 Old York Road, and falls under the retail store category focused on bakery operations. The position entails working closely with the team to prepare and decorate bakery products while ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained. The role requires a hands-on approach to daily bakery operations, including mixing and coloring frosting, making and loading cones, frosting and decorating cakes, and taking customer orders efficiently. Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the workspace, tools, and display areas to uphold the company's commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.

As a bakery team member at GIANT, you will be expected to start each shift by reviewing the work schedule, verifying equipment and supplies, and complying with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements before commencing duties. You will handle customer interactions with professionalism while completing and storing bakery orders properly. The position demands attention to detail in tracking and recording loss to minimize waste and ensure efficient operations. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 1 year work experience or technical training preferred
  • must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • able to meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs
  • standing for 55% and walking for 45% of the shift
  • able to comply with safety and PPE requirements
  • must be reliable and able to maintain regular attendance
  • able to communicate effectively in English
  • must complete probationary period of 60 days
  • able to work minimum 4-hour shifts as needed

Job Duties

  • promptly review work schedule at the start of shift
