The Retail Operations role within Food Lion’s Deli Bakery Department is focused on delivering quality customer service and maintaining high operational standards. This position is critical in ensuring that customers experience friendly, fast, and accurate service while shopping for deli and bakery products. The role requires strict adherence to Food Lion’s standard practice manual, which guides the processing, preparation, and display of all merchandise. Employees in this position are responsible for maintaining sanitation standards, handling food safety with care, and minimizing product shrinkage through efficient use of inventory and proper ordering techniques.

In this role, associates will be trained to understand the use of ingredients, mixes, and icings as well as the production standards for all deli and bakery products. They are expected to uphold Food Lion’s policies and guidelines regarding food handling and workplace safety, ensuring a safe environment for both customers and fellow associates. The position also involves collaborating with team members to create an enthusiastic and customer-focused atmosphere within the department. Associates will complete required training modules and use company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering system (CAO) to manage inventory effectively.
