Job Description

The GIANT Company is a well-established supermarket chain known for its commitment to community, quality, and customer satisfaction. Operating across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and New Jersey, the company has built a strong reputation for serving families and neighbors through its stores. GIANT emphasizes inclusivity and fosters a workplace culture grounded in core values such as care, courage, integrity, teamwork, and humor. These values not only define the company’s approach to business but also highlight its dedication to embracing diverse talents and making meaningful connections within the community. As a retail-oriented company, GIANT continually strives to enhance its stores and facilities to better serve team members, customers, and the broader community, creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

This particular role is based in Shillington, Pennsylvania, at the 600 E Lancaster Ave location, where the successful candidate will join the GC - Store Management team. The position primarily involves overseeing daily retail operations, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of store presentation and food quality. Candidates will engage in supervising team members, managing inventory, and ensuring that all operational procedures comply with company policies and safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills in a supportive and team-oriented environment while contributing directly to the company’s mission of connecting families and fostering healthy communities.

The role requires hands-on involvement in various departments, including bakery operations where duties extend to mixing ingredients, baking, packaging, and labeling baked goods. Additionally, oversight of the Starbucks section within the store is part of the responsibilities, demanding a versatile skill set and effective management to ensure all products meet quality and service standards. Candidates will be expected to manage work schedules, order processing, training new team members, and maintaining clean and sanitary working conditions in adherence to both company policies and local safety regulations. The GIANT Company values proactive employees who can take initiative, engage with customers and colleagues positively, and help implement ideas aimed at improving store operations and customer satisfaction.

This is a full-time position requiring an individual capable of working 8-10 hour shifts with a physical component including lifting and standing for extended periods. The role promises growth and career development opportunities supported by comprehensive training programs, including forklift training. GIANT’s inclusive environment encourages continuous learning and recognizes the importance of diverse viewpoints and experiences that contribute to a dynamic workplace. Joining the GIANT Company means becoming part of a team that values integrity and strives for excellence in retail management while making a positive impact in the local community.
