Job Description
Chobani is a renowned food manufacturer dedicated to producing high-quality and nutritious food products that are accessible to a wide range of consumers. Founded in 2005 by Hamdi Ulukaya, an immigrant to the United States, Chobani has grown to become a leader in the food industry, emphasizing a people-first, purpose-driven approach. The company is known for its natural ingredient-based yogurt, oat milk, and creamers, with Chobani yogurt recognized as America’s No.1 yogurt brand.
Following strategic expansions in recent years, Chobani acquired La Colombe in 2023, a leading coffee roaster that shares its commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and community impact. This acquisition enabled Chobani to introduce cold-pressed espresso and lattes on tap at cafes nationwide and Ready to Drink (RTD) coffee beverages in retail outlets. Furthering its mission to offer nutritious and convenient food options, Chobani acquired Daily Harvest in 2025, a brand renowned for ready-to-make meals that are both delicious and health-conscious.
Chobani operates multiple manufacturing facilities in New York, Idaho, Michigan, and Australia, and distributes products broadly across North America and select international markets. The company is deeply invested in philanthropy, viewing food as a force for good to positively impact humanity and communities worldwide. Their equal opportunity employment policy underscores a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable treatment of all employees and applicants.
Within this dynamic company, the FT Baker role at La Colombe’s Flagship Café in Fishtown, Philadelphia, offers an exciting opportunity for bakers with artisan skill sets to join a highly respected and fast-paced culinary environment. The bakery is known for its dedication to producing exceptional bread products that contribute significantly to the overall guest experience. The baker’s responsibility centers around creating a variety of artisan breads, including baguettes, sourdoughs, challah, ciabatta, and other rustic loaves. Bakers at La Colombe are expected to contribute immediately with strong shaping and baking skills and adapt effortlessly to early morning shifts starting at 3:30 AM, including working weekends and holidays.
This position is critical in maintaining the high standards of bread quality and presentation expected by La Colombe, with duties encompassing everything from opening and preparing workstations for the daily bake to quality control and ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitary practices. Bakers will work with commercial baking equipment such as deck ovens and mixers to bake and display products neatly for retail. The role also includes maintaining clean and safe workstations and assisting with general bakery tasks as needed.
Compensation for this full-time baker position is competitive and based on experience, starting at $21.00 per hour. Additional benefits include up to 60 hours of accrued paid time off (comprising vacation and personal days) as well as up to 60 hours of flexible time off for sick leave. This is a prime role for motivated bakers looking to be part of a respected food brand that values quality, community, and employee well-being.
