The Assistant Manager (AST) position at Regal Cinemas is a full-time leadership role based at the Crossgates Mall location. This role plays a key part in assisting the General Manager with all aspects of theatre operations and team supervision. The Assistant Manager is responsible for coaching and developing the theatre staff to ensure high standards of service, presentation, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager oversees theatre cleanliness, premiere picture and sound quality, food and beverage service excellence, and the smooth operation of all projection and audio-visual equipment.
This position involves a blend of hands-on supervision and technical operation, including running projection systems, managing staff scheduling, conducting hiring and disciplinary actions under managerial guidance, and monitoring theatre maintenance and inventory control. The ideal candidate will have experience in theatre operations, possess strong supervisory skills, be proficient in customer service, and be comfortable handling the financial and administrative tasks associated with daily cinema operations. This role also requires compliance with regulatory standards such as alcohol service certification when applicable.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Supervisory experience or equivalent theatre experience
- Legal age to sell and serve alcohol where applicable
- Completion of state or local required alcohol training and certification
- Proficient communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
- Valid ability to analyze problems and reach solutions
- Computer literacy including email and office programs
- Ability to handle mechanical and operational tasks
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Capability to supervise and lead employees effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three months supervisory experience or six months theatre experience with Cast Certification Program completion or demonstrated leadership skills approved by Vice President
- Legal age to sell and serve alcohol if applicable with completion of required training and certification
- Good public speaking skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to listen and respond clearly
- Accurate mathematical skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Experience with PC platforms and office software including email, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Dexterity to operate tools and perform mechanical tasks

- Experience supervising employees
- Knowledge of employment policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Uphold and administer all theatre policies
- Train, develop, coach and supervise non-management employees
- Perform all staff positions as required
- Operate all projection and audio-visual equipment including film handling and maintenance
- Ensure alcohol certification and training are current where applicable
- Monitor risk management including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, and emergency situations
- Ensure guest satisfaction
- Count, deposit and reconcile all receipts and handle various payment methods
- Comply with dress code
- Complete management certification program
- Review and understand the Rules of Management
- Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, suspend and terminate employees under General Manager guidance
- Control costs including purchasing and inventory management
- Supervise theatre maintenance and coordinate repairs
- Manage marketing, promotions and movie scheduling
- Complete required training on sexual harassment and discrimination
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
