The Assistant Manager (AST) at Regal Cinemas Crossgates Mall plays a vital leadership role as a full-time hourly position supporting the General Manager in overseeing theater operations, coaching and developing staff, and ensuring guests enjoy an outstanding theater experience. This role is designed for an inspiring leader with a passion for operational excellence and team engagement. The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of professionalism, facility cleanliness, technical expertise with projection and audio-visual equipment, as well as delivering superior food and beverage service. The position involves handling a broad range of operational duties, from employee supervision and training, scheduling, cost control and inventory management, to marketing, maintenance oversight, and guest satisfaction. The Assistant Manager ensures compliance with all company policies and safety regulations, including alcohol service certification.
In addition, Assistant Managers are instrumental in maintaining a safe theater environment by monitoring risk management protocols related to employee and patron safety, loss prevention, and emergency handling. This supervisory role requires the ability to multitask and lead by example, often filling in as needed for various staff positions to support smooth front-of-house and operational functions. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three months supervisory experience or six months theatre experience with Cast Certification
- Legal age to sell and serve alcohol if applicable
- Completion of Regal Responsible Beverage Server training
- Good public speaking skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to perform accurate calculations
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Proven PC and office software skills
- Ability to set priorities and manage time
- Ability to supervise and manage employees
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb occasionally, lift up to 60 lbs
- Vision capabilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three months supervisory experience or six months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program
- Completed or in process of completing management certification program
- Possess good public speaking skills
- Effective oral and written communication abilities
- Ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Proven PC and basic office software proficiency
- Ability to interface effectively with customers and coworkers
- Supervision experience in accordance with company policies
- Ability to train, coach, appraise, and discipline employees
Job Duties
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Upholding and administering all theatre policies
- The training, developing, coaching and supervising of non-management employees
- Performing all staff positions as required
- Operating all projection and audio-visual equipment within the theatre
- Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current
- Monitoring risk management as it pertains to the theatre
- Ensuring guest satisfaction
- Counting, depositing, and reconciling all receipts
- Knowledge and compliance of dress code
- Interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, suspending, and terminating employees with oversight
- Controlling costs including purchasing and inventory
- Supervising theatre maintenance and performing minor repairs
- Marketing and promotions of feature film engagements
- Reading and understanding training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination
