The Deli Bakery HMS Department Manager role at Food Lion is integral to the smooth running of store operations, tasked with supporting management to meet financial and sales targets while enhancing associate and customer relations. This full-time retail operations position involves overseeing the deli and bakery department, ensuring adherence to company standards for product quality, food safety, and customer service. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager
  • supervise the performance of deli bakery HMS associates
  • manage daily labor and coach associates to achieve productivity goals
  • provide leadership and motivation to promote Food Lion’s brand strategy and culture
  • support achievement of financial and operating results
  • ensure positive customer service experience emphasizing speed, flexibility, and friendliness
  • control store expenses through proper ordering and equipment care
  • use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, and ordering systems
  • maintain department appearance, quality, safety, food safety, and sanitation
  • create schedules that provide extraordinary customer service
  • oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and display of merchandise
  • correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents
  • ensure compliance with all regulations
  • record and report all associate and customer accidents
  • monitor shrink and provide coaching to prevent losses
  • use advertising and sales promotion materials properly
  • adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
  • maintain security standards
  • maintain personal appearance and comply with dress code
  • complete required computer-based training
  • meet physical requirements of the position
  • perform additional duties as assigned
