Job Description
The Store Manager role at Food Lion focuses on supporting store operations specifically in the Deli Bakery HMS department at the Charleston, South Carolina location. The Store Manager also plays an active role in minimizing shrinkage, coordinating advertising and sales promotions, and ensuring the department remains clean, safe, and well organized. Physical stamina is necessary due to frequent lifting, standing, and working in various temperature environments. Certification as a Food Safety Manager is required, emphasizing Food Lion's commitment to food safety and quality. Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- ability to lead and manage a team

- must meet minimum age requirements
- certified Food Safety Manager or able to obtain certification within 90 days and maintain accreditation
Job Duties
- Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager
- supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates
- manage daily labor and coach associates to achieve productivity expectations
- provide leadership and motivation to promote a culture reflective of Food Lion brand strategy
- support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
- maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly customer service
- role model outstanding friendly customer service using product knowledge
- control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment
- understand and utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, and ordering
- ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety, and sanitation
- write schedules to provide extraordinary customer service
- oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise
- correct unsafe conditions
- ensure compliance with regulations
- record and report accidents
- monitor shrink and provide coaching to prevent losses
- utilize advertising and promotional materials
- adhere to company policies and maintain security standards
- maintain neat personal appearance
