Job Description

Fresno Surgical Hospital is a distinguished healthcare institution dedicated solely to delivering outstanding surgical care with an unwavering commitment to excellence and quality. Designed as a specialized surgical hospital, it stands apart from traditional hospitals by offering a hospitality-inspired, healing environment tailored to support patients through their surgical journey. This unique approach ensures that every patient experiences compassionate care paired with state-of-the-art medical services. The hospital's mission, grounded in innovation and shared values, resonates through its exceptional satisfaction ratings from patients, physicians, and staff alike, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in surgical care within the Fresno community and beyond.

Within this remarkable setting, Fresno Surgical Hospital is currently seeking motivated individuals to join their food service team as Waitstaff. Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Kitchen, the Waitstaff plays a vital role in supporting patient care by managing a variety of patient food service and dish-related duties. This position is integral to maintaining the seamless operation of the hospital's food services, ensuring patients, family members, and staff receive timely, well-presented meals in a professional and friendly manner. Employment with Fresno Surgical Hospital offers not only the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause but also a competitive wage of $25.00 per hour, reflecting the value and importance of this role.

The Waitstaff position is designed for individuals who excel in communication and customer service, can work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and have a keen attention to detail in following food safety guidelines and kitchen procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with cleaning and sanitizing dishes, supporting new employee orientation within the department, helping set up and manage catered events, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and storage areas. Additionally, waitstaff members are responsible for delivering meals and taking food requests from patients and guests, helping other kitchen personnel with meal preparation, and adhering to departmental guidelines for tray set-up and stock management.

Fresno Surgical Hospital encourages reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to ensure all team members can successfully perform essential job functions without compromising patient care. Candidates with prior hospital or food service experience are preferred; however, the hospital values dedication and a willingness to learn highly. The role requires basic computer skills, particularly familiarity with Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel, as well as proficiency operating common kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

For individuals committed to excellent service and patient satisfaction, this position offers a rewarding career path within a highly respected, patient-centered surgical hospital. Join Fresno Surgical Hospital’s food services team to gain valuable experience in a unique healthcare environment while contributing positively to the patient healing process and overall hospital excellence.
