Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • ability to lift 30+ pounds
  • experience in deli or restaurant environment
  • ability to walk, stand, sit, twist, bend, and perform repetitive use of hands and arms
  • occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling or crawling
  • use and climbing of step stools or ladders
  • ability to write, speak, hear and understand spoken word
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating manuals
  • familiarity with equipment such as cash register, fryer, slicer, wrapper, presser, two-wheeler, and box cutter

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or related job experience and/or training
  • previous deli or restaurant experience
  • ability to write, speak, hear and understand spoken word
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals
  • good organizational skills
  • understanding of customer service principles
  • effective communication skills
  • teamwork and leadership experience

Job Duties

  • Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior
  • promote a high level of morale within department and store utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication
  • provide a safe, clean and positive environment and consistently build and support a culture based on relationships and continuous improvement
  • comply with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives while promoting a harassment-free environment
  • build knowledge and skills through training and education of self and other team members
  • attend departmental, store, and company meetings and contribute to profits and revenue goals
  • establish and monitor team member work schedules
  • instruct and teach others fundamentals of Service Deli Department operation including guest services and product preparation
  • maintain proper freshness, pricing, code dating, tare and merchandising of products
  • help maintain adequate department records
  • maintain awareness of competitive activity
  • assist with product and cost control to maximize sales and minimize losses
  • provide professional example and maintain effective inventory control
  • ensure product quality through monitoring appearance and proper stock rotation
