The Froster position at Nothing Bundt Cakes is a vital role dedicated to maintaining the quality and presentation of the bakery's signature cakes. Frosters are responsible for using proprietary frosting recipes and standardized application techniques to ensure that each cake meets NbC's high standards. This role includes preparing and frosting cakes for both pre-orders and walk-in customers, keeping the display case fully stocked with delicious samples and finished cakes, and managing inventory levels of frosting supplies. The Froster also plays an important role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at the frosting station, adhering strictly to food safety guidelines and company policies.

The Froster must demonstrate a strong commitment to NbC's core values by supporting team members and customers with empathy, taking full ownership of their responsibilities, and contributing to a pleasant and efficient workplace. This position requires multitasking capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work on a fast-paced production schedule. Although prior baking or frosting experience is preferred, it is not mandatory as NbC offers training for the right candidate. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be prepared to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business demands dictate.

Compensation for this role ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level. Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand written and oral directions including recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks requiring strength to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to operate commercial-grade ovens and bakery equipment safely
  • Attention to detail with exact measurements and strict adherence to timing and production schedules
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Diligent, organized, and self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prior baking or frosting experience preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in bakery or food service operational support is a plus

Job Duties

  • Follow NbC proprietary frosting recipe and application methods with precision and achieve productivity goals
  • Effectively use measuring instruments, commercial-grade or handheld mixers, and pastry bags to frost cakes
  • Prioritize cake pre-orders according to schedule and frost cakes for walk-in guest orders
  • Keep the bakery display case fully stocked with samples and frosted cakes, maintaining appropriate par levels
  • Adhere to proper packaging, labeling, and storage of frosted cakes and maintain product rotation standards and refrigeration logs
  • Monitor inventory of frosting supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed
  • Evaluate baked and frosted cakes to ensure adherence to NbC quality standards and report any quality control issues
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock the frosting workstation and prepare supplies for the next shift
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines, NbC policies, and procedures including dress code and personal hygiene
  • Maintain consistent work attendance and punctuality
