Located in Montgomery, the Front Services department plays a critical role in the daily operations of this vibrant establishment. The Full-Time Front Services Runner position is pivotal in ensuring that guests receive courteous and efficient valet and luggage service. This role involves direct, friendly contact with guests, enhancing their arrival and departure experience by providing high-quality customer engagement. The shift for this position is primarily from 9:00 pm to 7:30 am, with flexibility to adjust based on business needs. It requires individuals who can safely park and retrieve vehicles, handle guest luggage, and maintain a neat and organized parking area and front drive. This position is designed for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, demanding environments and possess a naturally outgoing and positive personality.

The Front Services Runner is entrusted with the responsibility of projecting a positive image of the company through excellent guest interaction, timely handling of vehicles, and meticulous care of the guests' belongings. The role requires adherence to strict procedures to reduce claims and protect company assets while delivering seamless guest service standards. Responsibilities such as greeting guests by name, issuing valet tickets accurately, inspecting vehicles for damages, and explaining parking options require excellent communication and documentation skills.

This position not only emphasizes the operational side of hotel and casino premises management but also underlines the importance of guest comfort and satisfaction by escorting guests to their rooms and performing room orientations to enhance their stay. Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Must have the ability to safely operate automatic transmission vehicles
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to complete a timed running test
  • Must have and maintain valid state-issued operator driver’s license
  • Must be able to successfully pass a MVR (motor vehicle report) check
  • Any DUI conviction within the last three (3) years will disqualify any applicant
  • Ability to also safely operate a manual transmission vehicle, in addition to automatic transmission, is preferred
  • Successfully meet the standards set by an interview panel regarding communication skills, guest services skills, and demonstration of a naturally outgoing, friendly, helpful personality and positive attitude
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or run for entire shift
  • Must be able to run to retrieve vehicles and run to valet booth after parking vehicles during the entire shift
  • Must be able to endure outside elements/conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as phones, computers, etc.
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to pass a physical fitness test if administered
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position

Job Duties

  • Project a positive image
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests upon arrival and departure
  • Open guest car doors
  • Accurately fill out proper documentation, safeguard company assets, use guests' names during transactions and allow quick location and retrieval of guest vehicles
  • Issue valet tickets upon arrival according to guidelines
  • Inspect and document vehicular damage
  • Process valet retrievals as per guidelines
  • Keep office areas, parking lots, lobby area and front drive clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized
  • Explain parking options to guests as needed
  • Lift, position, and remove barricades and signs in order to open or close parking areas
  • Actively greet guests and open doors to hotel
  • Execute required guest service standards to ensure guests are happy and well served
  • Handle and deliver guest luggage and belongings at check-in and/or checkout
  • Escort guests to front desk and guestrooms as needed
  • Perform room orientation according to established standards
  • Store and return stored guest luggage as needed
  • Actively resolve guest issues and disputes
  • Disseminate information to guests regarding the property, hotel, promotions, etc.
  • Reduce claims by strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
