Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED degree
  • 3 - 4 years experience in a related field
  • ability to work an 8.5-hour shift between 7:30am to 5pm
  • knowledge of JCAHO and HIPAA protocols
  • good hearing, vision, and physical ability to perform required tasks such as typing, answering phones, sitting, walking, and occasional lifting under 10 lbs
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 - 4 years experience in a related field
  • proficiency with office phone systems and scheduling software
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of patient registration and insurance processes
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • competence in handling payments and daily financial reconciliation
  • ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • customer service oriented with problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Answer incoming telephone lines and handle and distribute calls
  • Demonstrate flexibility and take initiative in seeking or accepting additional assignments
  • Schedule patient appointments and inform department of issues
  • Accurately input patient registration information and update patient insurance and demographic information
  • Accept payments and log appropriately
  • Demonstrate courtesy and respect toward families, community professionals and agencies, office personnel and team members
  • Follow JCAHO and HIPAA protocols and limit access to patient information
  • Handle patient complaints and refer to manager as appropriate
