The organization prides itself on its inclusive culture, equal opportunity employment practices, and focus on continuous improvement to ensure exceptional healthcare experiences for patients and their families. UNLV Health offers a range of medical, dental, and vision benefits, competitive paid time off policies, and a supportive workplace conducive to career growth and development.

This position primarily involves managing patient appointments, greeting patients and visitors warmly, and facilitating efficient check-in and check-out processes. Additionally, the Front Office Specialist is responsible for answering and directing phone calls, verifying insurance eligibility, and assisting with general office duties that support clinical staff. This role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal abilities as the individual will frequently interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.

Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, though scheduled hours may vary based on business needs. Key responsibilities include utilizing medical knowledge such as ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines, understanding Medicare regulations, and demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Candidates should have at least six months of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and a high school diploma or its equivalent.

In this Front Office Specialist role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Your duties will also involve upholding confidentiality standards, managing patient information accurately, and collaborating closely with healthcare providers to facilitate seamless patient care. The position offers several benefits including 12 full-day and 2 half-day paid holidays annually, 20 paid time off days, a 3% 401K contribution after 90 days of employment regardless of personal contribution, and benefits that begin the first of the month following your start date.

Working at UNLV Health means engaging in a challenging yet rewarding environment where you will contribute directly to patient wellness and the operational success of the clinic. The role requires physical stamina at times, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
