Job Duties
- Maintain guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel
- make every guest satisfied
- ensure all hotel staff know guest service components and are trained to meet standards
- develop added value customer service programs
- empower hotel staff to deliver guest service by encouraging and rewarding responsive assistance
- act as manager on duty and manage front desk operations
- ensure front desk staff is trained in all front desk operations including check-in/check-out procedures, telephone procedures, hotel amenities, and computer systems
- lead and assist in revenue management functions
- produce accurate financial reports
- work with General Manager and Sales Manager to generate new business ideas, set up rate codes, and input rooming lists
- manage human resources functions including recruiting, orientation, training, performance planning, evaluation, pay, and reward programs
- ensure all hotel employees know hotel objectives
- maintain accurate personnel files and comply with local and federal laws
- administer personnel policies fairly and consistently
- resolve employee grievances timely
- mentor direct reports
- monitor and maintain acceptable turnover levels
- know local health and safety codes
- follow key control system policies
- maintain physical product standards through preventive maintenance and deep-cleaning activities
- perform periodic property inspections
