We are seeking a qualified Front Office Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a critical leadership position that involves overseeing the daily activities and operations at the front desk to ensure seamless check-in and check-out processes and unrivaled guest satisfaction. The Front Office Manager will supervise and train all front office associates, including front desk agents, night audit staff, and valet attendants, on hotel policies, procedures, property management system usage, job safety, and brand standards.

In this role, the Front Office Manager will play a vital part in maintaining high team morale and operational efficiency by promoting an environment of positivity and recognition. The manager will regularly observe front office interactions, analyze guest feedback and reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members to continually improve service quality. Additionally, the position requires maintaining clear and effective communication with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping, to ensure accurate room status updates and coordination of guest needs.

This is a role that demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the hotel's standards and policies. The Front Office Manager will be responsible for scheduling workload distribution during shifts, conducting regular team meetings, resolving guest concerns professionally and efficiently, managing the front office budget, and operating the front office computer system including software maintenance and report generation. As acting Manager on Duty when required, the individual will provide guidance across departments and assist in various hotel areas if needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in front office operations
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Leadership experience in a hospitality setting

Job Duties

  • Schedules and supervises workload during shifts of front office associates
  • Trains new employees
  • Evaluates the job performance of each front office associate and provides coaching when necessary
  • Maintains positive working relationships and communicates with all departments
  • Collaborates with housekeeping to ensure that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly, efficiently, and courteously
  • Updates group information
  • Maintains, monitors, and prepares group requirements
  • Relays information to appropriate individuals and departments
  • Works within the allocated budget for the front office
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office team members
  • Prepare and review daily front desk reporting, take action as appropriate to ensure the interests of the hotel and guests are addressed
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of all company policies and brand standards
  • Operate all aspects of Front Office computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple configuration changes
  • Ensure that employees are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and other employees
  • Act as the Manager on Duty, provide guidance and support to all departments in the hotel when required
  • Maybe required to help in other areas of the hotel on occasion, such as housekeeping, breakfast, or engineering
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • May be asked to assist in the selection process for new team members
  • May complete weekly schedules and coordinate absence coverage for front office team members
