Job Requirements
- High school education required
- Minimum one year in a management role in a hotel required
- Must be able to effectively lead a team
- Knowledge of and ability to operate personal computers and hotel property-specific applications
- Ability to read and speak English fluently
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work without constant supervision
- Required to work desk shifts as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school education required
- Some college preferred
- Minimum one year in a hotel management role required
- Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate office equipment such as copier, printer and telephone
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work without constant supervision
- Ability to assume front desk duties as needed
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
- Ability to perform under pressure
Job Duties
- Schedule guest services front desk representatives, night audit staff and breakfast attendants
- Fulfill shift(s) as Manager on Duty as assigned
- Lead the Guest Services team with a hands-on approach
- Maintain staffing levels of the department
- Manage supplies and inventory controls for the Front Office and Pantry
- Provide management support and coverage in other hotel areas as needed
- Review schedules and address issues promptly
- Conduct guest services meetings to keep employees informed
- Train and troubleshoot hotel computer systems
- Complete daily credit checks and adhere to front office systems and controls
- Ensure knowledge of company and hotel marketing programs
- Recruit, manage, and train Front Office Team members
- Train staff on company and brand standard programs
- Administer rewards programs and requirements training
- Maximize room occupancy at best rates
- Establish consistent Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure compliance with company appearance and grooming standards
- Assign duties and shifts and monitor performance
- Review guest experience scores and recommend improvements
- Respond to guest inquiries, complaints and special requests
- Create a motivated and productive work environment
- Track corporate accounts
- Assume front desk clerk duties if necessary
- Comply with security, fire, health and safety regulations
- Oversee smooth operation of breakfast service if applicable
