Job Description
Gaylord Hotels, a distinguished portfolio under Marriott International, is renowned for delivering exceptional meetings and experiences through its unique environments, services, and programming. As a leader in the hospitality industry, Gaylord Hotels emphasizes creating memorable moments by bringing people together in extraordinary ways. With a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, the organization values the rich blend of culture, talent, and experience among its associates. Operating at locations like 1000 H St, Chula Vista, California, Gaylord Hotels provides dynamic and engaging career opportunities beyond the scope of traditional hotels, boasting a workplace culture that fosters creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and big-hearted service.
The Property Administrative Specialist position at Gaylord Hotels plays a vital role in ensuring smooth administrative operations across multiple departments such as Guest Services, Engineering, and Food and Beverage. This full-time, non-management role is based onsite at the Chula Vista location and offers a competitive hourly wage of $27.75. The position demands flexibility in day and evening shifts, with a preference for candidates able to support front office functions. Core responsibilities include preparing various documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; serving as a key point of contact for clients and vendors; and acting as a liaison between the Sales Office and clients throughout all stages of event coordination, including pre-event, event, and post-event activities.
Success as a Property Administrative Specialist hinges on upholding Marriott’s high standards of workplace safety, professionalism in appearance and communication, and adherence to company policies and procedures. The role requires physical capability such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships across departments, responding appropriately to employee concerns, and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions are additional expectations that contribute to hotel-wide operational excellence.
Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a team where you can do your best work, begin your purpose, belong to an amazing global team, and become the best version of yourself. The company is proud to foster a workplace culture where the unique backgrounds of associates are valued and celebrated, ensuring equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or any other protected classifications. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Marriott International aims to create a safe, inclusive environment where all employees are encouraged to grow their careers and thrive.
