Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a customer service or medical office environment preferred
  • basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally

  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a front office or customer service role preferred
  • basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes helpful
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • proficiency with electronic medical records and scheduling software
  • attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • friendly and professional phone etiquette

Job Duties

  • Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services
  • registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays
  • answers phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
  • fields calls appropriately for center associates
  • acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
  • maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office clean up
  • orders office supplies as needed
  • maintains supply of patient information sheets
  • pushes imaging via electronic interfaces
  • completes confirmation calls and provides preparation instructions to patient
  • faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested
  • verifies patient's insurance
  • pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
  • obtains insurance authorization
  • uses knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
  • handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys and insurance companies following Company guidelines
  • arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
  • enters and submits patient exam orders
  • verifies orders match exam schedules
  • schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
  • schedules walk-in patients
  • processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
  • maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
  • performs other duties as assigned
